9:00am to around 2:00pm

Location:  Sedona, AZ

AL CORNELL, WORKSHOP INSTRUCTOR

COST FOR THE WORKSHOP IS $30.00

These are two fun and very informative workshops.  Al Cornell is a great instructor.  More details as we get closer to May.  Need to sign up at maryk92@aol.com ASAP as there is a limit of 15 members.

DFC/AAS MEMBERS ONLY, PRIORITY TO DFC MEMBERS

There is some walking/hiking on uneven gravel paths and various incline grades.  Know you hiking level.  Bring a lunch, water and snacks for both days.

The Monday workshop consists of:

How to use maps and compass workshop.

Hands-on map usage with a compass usage course and more.

The Tuesday workshop consists of:

“Recreational Survival” on a basic hike.  Note: This is a fun outing and not a test or real survival - just some enjoyment and more.

Note:  GPS units use batteries and they often reach end of life unexpectedly.  Properly using land navigational techniques with a map and compass (accurately) is important to all of us spending time in the Arizona outdoor environment.  This is true hiking or facing a car emergency driving.
